Six Years of Twisted Frequency

Techno and Progressive music has evolved a whole lot since the inception of Twisted Frequency recordings back in 2006 – and whilst the ethos of the label has always been to avoid pigeon-holing and avoid trend-chasing, we've decided that the start of this New Year is the right time to take a retrospective over the last six years and try to summarise the best moments in this 20-track compilation. Coming out on January 31st on all digital outlets covered by the Bonzai network.

Podcast #6 - Tajmahal

Tajmahal is a DJ from the South of France and labl manager for Electrik Dream - and also part of Chillout/Ethnic Project UASCA in collaboration with Dj Fluxo (Quest4goa-PT). When Djing, he combines his spotless technical skills with a broad, eclectic musical knowledge and an immense creativity. He is well known to his followers for building sets which tell a story - and taking the crowds every step of the way towards enlightment, encompassing different music styles in the same DJ set. Bells & Whistles

Our final release of 2011 comes from Canadian duo Aerodrömme who give us a slab of dark shuffling techno for the sweaty techno basement experience. James Trystan turns in a groovy remix with a deeper vibe - showcasing his new solo moniker. The James Harcourt Mainline remix retains the dark vibe, fragmenting and re-arranging the parts with extra percussion into a floor throbbing dancefloor groove and a slightly dubbier moment during the breakdown. Merry Christmas!

Affani & Dapo

Following the success of the 'Yuma' package in 2010, Barcelona-based Affani returns to the fold in collaboration with Dapo. We've signed a track which is best described as simple but effective atmospheric techno - perfect use of repetition and the ideal blend of sounds. Coming out early in 2012, listen out for it on an upcoming Twisted Frequency podcast.

Podcast #5 - Slava Uncle

From Belarus, Slava has 18 years of music experience under his belt. He started Djing in 1991 in the first night club in Gomel. From the mid-90's, he hosted regular parties featuring many international stars. In 2003-2004 Slava launched a radio show on Gomel's Radio "107.4FM". and from 2004 he returned to the club scene and has played alongside the likes of James Zabiela (Uk), Elite Force (London), Jarome Isma-Ae (Gemany) and Butch (Germany).
